Tinka's New Dress, a fable for adults based on underground puppet shows of Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia, examines propaganda versus truth, compliance versus censorship and the collective society versus the individual. Street of Blood confronts contemporary bloodlust, from the contaminated blood supply scandal, adoption, religion, AIDS and celebrity worship. Ronnie Burkett was given the Freedom of Expression Award for his fearless choice of themes.
